Make It Happen for Yolo County is proud to partner with Terry Zimmer and the I-Dream Mac Give Back Project in providing resources for Yolo County’s underserved populations.

Terry, a Davis resident,  founded the non-profit I-Dream Mac Give Back Project in October of 2018.  This wonderful organization accepts donated computers, laptops and I-Pads which are refurbished and provided without cost to those in need. Terry doesn’t just provide the computers, he also meets individually with clients and provides instruction on their use.  Since its start, the I Dream Mac Give Back Project has given away about 130 computers.

Make It Happen for Yolo County (MIH) connected with Terry and his organization after a 2018 presentation to the Davis Sunrise Rotary group.  One of the I-Dream Mac Give Back Project’s board members was in attendance and suggested he contact MIH for more information on the opportunities and challenges of starting a non-profit.  We were immediately impressed with Terry’s passion and computer expertise.  Several of our members have donated used computers to him.

This fall, Terry gifted a laptop and docking station to one of the Yolo County transition age youth (TAY)  that Make It Happen for Yolo County had previously served.   Other fortunate clients of Terry’s include a 90 year old retired Episcopalian priest, the Children’s Therapy Center in Woodland, employees of Bayer Ag in Woodland and a UCD PhD student from Nigeria who had been utilizing university computers for his coursework until the pandemic hit, when he needed one of his own.  The majority of clients of the I-Dream Give Back Project reside in Yolo County and do not speak English.  Justine Sevilleja, manager of the US Bank in Davis has generously provided a conference room where Terry and his clients are able to meet while practicing social distancing and other Covid-mitigating practices.

iDream gratefully accepts monetary donations and desktop computers, I-Pads, monitors and printers.    They are also looking for interns.  For more information or to donate, please go to the I-Dream Mac Give Back project website at https://www.idreammac.com/donate-technology
